The Heritage Stahl OO-1 is a faithful recreation from our Heritage series, bringing back the charm and unique voice of a classic OO-sized instrument built by the Larson Brothers under the Stahl brand. This model honors the historical "Built under Tension" construction with an authentically "arched" top, a key element in the original Larson design that contributed to their exceptional projection and structural integrity.
Following the original blueprint, the Stahl OO-1 features August Larson's innovative "laminated" bracing system. This signature construction method provided the original instruments with remarkable durability and a clear, articulate tone. The top is crafted from high-grade Alpine Moon spruce Mastergrade, a premium tonewood known for its responsiveness and clarity. For the back and sides, it features Honduras Mahogany (Switenia Macrophylla), a classic choice celebrated for its warm, balanced sound with a strong mid-range presence.
Keeping historical accuracy in focus, the Stahl OO-1 includes a Mahogany neck, an Indian Rosewood (Dalbergia latifolia) fingerboard adorned with elegant Floral Larson Style inlays, and a Polished Vintage Bone nut and bridge inlay. The distinctive Larson historic peghead with Larson logo M.O.P. and Ebony (Diospyros ebenum) overlay, along with the Ebony bridge, complete this instrument, offering players an authentic experience of a golden-era Stahl guitar with superior craftsmanship and materials.
