The New Era Masterbuilt Grand OM channels the design philosophy of the Larson Brothers through a modern lutherie lens, offered in two distinct constructions that define its tonal character.

The flat top version, paired with scalloped bracing, delivers a familiar responsiveness with enhanced resonance, overtone richness, and dynamic openness. In contrast, the Larson-inspired arched top construction provides greater projection, headroom, and note separation, resulting in a more focused and controlled voice.

Both instruments are built around a premium Val di Fiemme Moonspruce (Picea abies) top, valued for its stiffness, clarity, and dynamic sensitivity. Each model is matched with a specific back and side pairing, shaping its tonal identity.

Shared appointments include a Mahogany neck, Ebony fingerboard and bridge, Polished Vintage Bone nut and bridge inlay, and a satin neck finish for a refined playing feel. The Larson historic peghead with M.O.P. logo and Ebony overlay completes the instrument’s understated, heritage-driven aesthetic.

Who is Klaus Eilken?

Klaus is a precision-driven luthier whose work within the Larson Masterbuilt Series reflects a deep commitment to structural integrity and tonal clarity. His approach is grounded in the disciplined execution of historic Larson principles, particularly laminated bracing and “built under tension” construction.

Each instrument is individually voiced, with careful attention to stiffness, responsiveness, and balance across the full frequency range. He prioritises consistency under real playing conditions, producing guitars with fast attack, strong note separation, and controlled projection.

The result is a focused, reliable instrument where function leads and tone remains precise, balanced, and authoritative.
