The New Era Masterbuilt Grand OM is a versatile acoustic guitar that brings the design philosophy of the Larson Brothers into a modern Masterbuilt instrument.

Larger than a traditional OM, the Grand OM offers greater depth, range and projection while retaining the balance and articulation that make the OM format so useful. It is well suited to fingerstyle, flatpicking, light strumming and vocal accompaniment, with enough power for dynamic playing and enough clarity for detailed work.

Two distinct constructions are available. The flat top version, paired with scalloped bracing, delivers a familiar acoustic response with enhanced resonance, overtone richness and dynamic openness. The Larson-inspired arched top version provides greater projection, headroom and note separation, giving the guitar a more focused and controlled voice.

Both versions are built around a premium Val di Fiemme Moonspruce top, selected for its stiffness, clarity and dynamic sensitivity. Three back and side options are available: Madagascar Rosewood, Honduras Mahogany and Tasmanian Blackwood. Madagascar Rosewood adds depth, sustain and harmonic complexity. Honduras Mahogany gives a dry, direct voice with strong midrange focus. Tasmanian Blackwood offers warmth, clarity and refined overtones, with a balanced response that works well across fingerstyle, flatpicking and light strumming.

Shared appointments include a Mahogany neck, Ebony fingerboard and bridge, Polished Vintage Bone nut and bridge inlay, and a satin neck finish for a smooth, refined playing feel.

The Larson historic peghead, M.O.P. logo and Ebony overlay complete the New Era Masterbuilt Grand OM with an understated, heritage-led aesthetic rooted in the craftsmanship and design legacy of the Larson Brothers.

Who is Klaus Eilken?

Klaus is a precision-driven luthier whose work within the Larson Masterbuilt Series reflects a deep commitment to structural integrity and tonal clarity. His approach is grounded in the disciplined execution of historic Larson principles, particularly laminated bracing and “built under tension” construction.

Each instrument is individually voiced, with careful attention to stiffness, responsiveness, and balance across the full frequency range. He prioritises consistency under real playing conditions, producing guitars with fast attack, strong note separation, and controlled projection.

The result is a focused, reliable instrument where function leads and tone remains precise, balanced, and authoritative.
